Remaining late start days for the 18-19 school year have been cancelled. Here is the district statement regarding the calendar change:
Thank you for your understanding and support as we have all navigated the challenging conditions of this winter's weather.
The start time delays and school cancellations have impacted our students' learning time. Our goal is to recapture as much lost learning time as possible, while minimizing disruptions to our families. Therefore, we are removing scheduled, District-wide late start days for the remainder of the school year. The two late starts that remain are April 11 and May 2. On each of these days, school will start as normally scheduled.
Hopkins High School, however, will keep its conferences on May 2nd as normally scheduled. There will be no school for Hopkins High School students on May 2nd.
Additional information will be provided shortly to teachers to explain how the PLC time will be processed.
As we all know, it's not uncommon in Minnesota for additional weather events to occur in March or even April. We will monitor the weather impacts closely and communicate any additional modifications to the calendar as soon as possible.
Again, we thank you for your continued understanding and support as we work through the remainder of this tough winter.
