Spirit Week fun. We have had a delightful week of silliness and fun with our Spirit Week dress up days. Our teachers and students were creative and clever. As Dr. Seuss says, “It is fun to have fun....”
Spring Break. Today was the last day of school until Monday, April 2. School will be open Monday-Thursday next week and Kids and Company will be here those days. If you are traveling, we wish you safe travels. No matter where you are, we hope you can have time to enjoy your wonderful children.
Building Closed. On Friday, March 30th the building will be closed, which also means NO Kids & Co that day.
A Message from the Superintendent's Office: In an earlier communication to all Hopkins families regarding School Safety and Security, we included incorrect information regarding the buzzer systems of our schools' external doors. We want to provide you with the following corrected information:
Three of our district buildings are set up with a double buzzer system. Hopkins High School and North Junior High use them on a daily basis. Harley Hopkins has the capability but as of now visitors are buzzed directly into the main office. We are in the process of conducting comprehensive safety checks in all of our buildings. We are also discussing whether standardizing all of our schools to a two-buzzer system is a change law enforcement would recommend.
What's true for all buildings at this time is that we have a two-step entry process. This two-step process involves a visitor being buzzed into the welcome center or office through a locked door and then registering with the staff as a guest/parent before being allowed into the rest of the building. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by providing incorrect information. Thank you for your understanding.
Parent Teacher Conferences. School resumes on Monday, April 2, for three days and then there will be two days of no school for parent conferences.Conference sign-up links are listed below. Please remember to choose the link with the correct grade and scroll down and find your child’s teacher. Each child gets one, thirty-minute conference. If parents are divorced please work together to make a plan to attend one conference for your child. Conferences are Wednesday evening, April 4th, Thursday afternoon and evening, April 5th, and Friday morning, April 6th. Please note Mrs. Pakenham’s first grade class and Mrs. Roller have separate conference links.
Mrs. Pakenham's 1st Grade Class

Grades 4 - 6
Gifted & Talented - Mrs. Roller
Be sure to sign up for conferences now or during Spring Break. Sign -ups will close on Sunday, April 1st at 5:00pm.
A message from the Health Office. Ahhh..Spring Break! Spending time with friends, going on sleep overs, having playdates and fun time together with family...it is good to share time, but please don't share head lice! Parents are reminded to check through their child’s hair for 5-10 minutes under a bright light EVERY week. Every Week Take a Peek! Head lice tend to be a silent visitor; therefore, early detection makes treatment much easier and reduces the chances of transmission to others. Be safe and have a happy, healthy vacation!
