Are you open enrolled and have a kindergartner coming next year? It is extremely important for you to fill out an open enrollment form. These forms are due January 15th. You will have sibling preference, but you MUST fill out a form and submit it before January 15th. Forms are available online or in the office. Do not risk having your children separated by filing the form late.
Do you live in our attendance area and have a kindergartner coming next year? It would be helpful if you could turn in a registration form to the office so that we know that your child is planning on attending Meadowbrook in the fall. Kindergarten Round up is February 12th at 6:30pm. Forms are available online or in the office.
Jacket zipper trouble? This is the time of year when the kids’ jackets get slammed in locker doors and suddenly stop working. If you notice that your child’s zipper is not working, ask your child to take it to the office for Dr. E-B to fix. I have fixed hundreds of zippers by replacing the broken pull with a new one. I am happy to give it a try to see if the zipper is fixable before you go out and buy a new one. Not all zippers are fixable, but most are.
No School. There is no school on Monday, January 21st due to the Martin Luther King Holiday and on Tuesday, January 22nd for grading day. School will resume on Wednesday, January 23rd. Report cards will be sent home the following week.
Dress for the weather. Please send with your child boots, snow pants, hats and mittens to school each day with the plan to play outside for recess. The district guideline for staying inside is 0 degrees or -10 wind chill. If your child needs winter gear please contact the office. Please make sure all of the items are labeled with your student’s name on them.

Parents Night Out. We are looking for volunteers to help with the Parents Night Out and Auction on April 5th, Meadowbrook’s largest fundraiser! This event will take place again at the beautiful Brookview Community Center. We are currently looking for help in the following areas: donation solicitation, day of event help, party planning, great gatherings and overall organization. If you have been looking for a way to connect with other Meadowbrook parents or have a skill set in any or all of these areas, please do not hesitate to help out! We are hoping to increase volunteers to help lighten everyone's load and have fun in the process.
If interested please email Erin Plasch at email@example.com.

We Need You to Help Us Reimagine Our District Gifted and Talented Program!
As part of our journey to go from Great to World Class, Hopkins is reimagining its gifted and talented programming. We can’t do this work alone — we need your input! Join us at a four-session series focus team that will meet January 10-31. Together we will examine our current programming and think about what might better align with our collective vision as we look to the future of how we develop the awesome talents of our students. You do not have to have a child enrolled in gifted and talented programming to participate. More information:
