NJH Student Wellness Center Opens

For students in need of emotional support
October 26, 2018

HEF's generous donors have funded an after-school Student Wellness Center at Hopkins North Junior High.

Wellness Center appointments are FREE, welcoming, and available to ANY student in need of emotional support for ANY reason, including anxiety, stress, and other deeply personal challenges. Students will have access to either a school social worker, counselor or psychologist. Student support/ educational groups will be made available in the near future.

In addition, a MoveFwd (formerly Teens Alone) therapist will be supporting students through individual sessions when determined necessary.

HEF's exciting two-year Health and Wellness partnership with Hopkins Public Schools (Student Wellness = Student Success) is now fully engaged. Our investment is expanding and growing the District's support of the WHOLE student. The opening of the Wellness Centers is an important component in the goal of guiding ALL students to meet their full potential.

Research clearly shows that emotional, social, and physical well-being have a direct effect on academics, and precisely why HEF's wellness projects range from nutrition to mindfulness to physical & mental health. Watch for periodic updates.
