Heidi Farner started her teaching career at Gatewood Elementary in 1999. She taught Spanish, second grade, and third grade. She also had the opportunity to teach overseas and taught third grade at an International School in Saipan for two years before returning to her third grade position at Gatewood. She switched to First Grade in 2010, only to realize how much she loves working with first graders! She has a BA from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN in Elementary Education and Spanish and received her Master's Degree from Concordia University in St. Paul, MN in Education with an Emphasis on Differentiated Instruction. She is trained in Responsive Classroom and National Urban Alliance (NUA), and participates on many leadership teams at Gatewood.
