Spring teacher/parent conferences will be held on Wednesday, March 22 from 4:30 to 8 PM, Thursday, March 23 from 12:00-8:00pm, and on Friday, March 24 from 8 am to 12:00 pm. Click here to sign up online.
Teachers will contact families who don’t have an email address to schedule their conferences. If you have already been scheduled for a conference by our ELL staff, you do not need to sign up again.
Visit with Superintendent John Schultz during conferences
You can connect with Superintendent John Schultz at elementary conferences on March 23. He will be visiting Alice Smith Elementary from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
He will be traveling around the District to connect with families, community members, and you! The goal is to share the vision of Hopkins Public Schools, listen to feedback, and answer questions. You can find him the media center. No need to make an appointment, just stop by.

A free community meal is served every 4th Saturday next door at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 715 Minnetonka Mills Rd, Hopkins. Join us between 9:00 am - 10:30 am for a free and delicious breakfast.
Screenagers: Growing Up in the Digital Age, Tuesday, March 28, 6:30 p.m., Hopkins Center for the Arts, Main Theater1111 Mainstreet, Hopkins
Are you watching kids scroll through life with their rapid-fire thumbs and a six-second attention span? The documentary Screenagers: Growing Up in the Digital Age takes a deeply personal approach probing into the vulnerable corners of family life, exploring the struggles over social media, video games, academics, and internet addiction. After the 68-minute film stick around and engage in a dialogue with a community panel offering perspectives and resources to help parents and their children navigate expectations and realities with the use of technology. FREE and open to the public, seating is first-come, first-served. Fourth through twelfth grade students and their parents/guardians encouraged to attend.

Alice Smith Variety Show Coming April 4th
Calling all talented Alice Smith Students! Your chance to shine is coming soon. The Alice Smith Variety Show will take place on Tuesday, April 4th. If you'd like to sing a song, play an instrument, do a dance, perform a skit or share any other special skill or talent, you can be in the show. To be in the show, fill out a Variety Show Tryout Form (available in the Electronic Backpack and outside of the Music Room) and return it to Mr. Estrine ASAP. Everyone in the show will need to attend a rehearsal after school on Monday, April 3rd from 4:05-5:30 in the Gym. Take Me Out to the Ball Game on Sunday, May 21st! Save the Date!
Alice Smith students will once again have the chance to sing our National Anthem, "The Star-Spangled Banner," on the field before the Minnesota Twins baseball game on Sunday afternoon, May 21st. Tickets will cost $11.00 each (Upper Deck behind home plate in the "Home Plate View" section) and all students MUST be accompanied by an adult. Skyhawks Flag Football
Skyhawks Minnesota has been offering safe, skill based and fun sports programs since 1999. Learn skills on both sides of the ball including the core components of passing, catching, and de-flagging or defensive positioning – all presented in a fun and positive environment. At the end of each class, we will introduce scrimmaging and other team oriented games. Friday April 7, 14 and 21. (April 28 only if one of the other weeks is rained out.) 4:05-5:30 p.m. $44. K-3rd grade.
Hopkins Youth Chess Tournament
Join us for the 1st ever Hopkins Youth Chess tournament! All kids will play in 5 games, get a pizza/drink lunch and receive a prize! Kids will be split by ability levels into various tournament groups. Check in from 8:30-9:00 a.m. Tourney runs 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Eisenhower Elementary Cafeteria. $29. K-9th grade.
