What's New at Alice Smith: Looking for Input
Our Student Visioning Team is teaming with Alice Smith staff to engage YOU more deeply as we move from Great to World Class at Alice Smith. As part of their work our Student Visioning Team would like to share some of their favorite World Class schools with you from around the world. They will also be looking to engage you in conversation over the next couple of months. For example the team will be asking families at Winterfest to share what they currently love about Alice Smith and how they think that Alice Smith can improve from Great to World Class. We encourage you to do some thinking ahead of time! Your input is important to us!
Alice Smith Student Visioning Team's favorite World Class Schools: Brightworks School
"Brightworks School is a fast and innovating school. They have changed their whole lessons and philosophy. They have now been encouraging expedition and exploration. They have weaved more experiments and danger into their lessons." By: Nikolas Gruss
Winterfest is only a week away!
The annual Alice Smith Winterfest Carnival is set for next Friday, January 31, 2020 from 5:30-8:00pm. This is a great family night filled with fun, food, games, and prizes. In order for Winterfest to be a success we need everyone’s help! We are counting on every family to contribute to this very important fundraising event for our school. It takes hundreds of volunteers to put on Winterfest but we have only a small fraction of the volunteers needed to make Winterfest a success. Please consider donating a portion of your time so that we do not have to cut back on the night’s activities. We especially need help in the cafeteria. Also if your 5th or 6th graderor Junior high student would like to volunteer in any other area of Winterfest we would love to put them to work! Parents, there are 2 ways to volunteer your time. You can sign up online at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0e4fafab2daa8-winterfest8 or look for the volunteer flyer in your child’s Friday folder and return it to school.
