Jeff Matchette has working in education since 1998, joining the staff in Hopkins Public Schools in 2008. He has worked at both the high school and junior high level. Jeff graduated from Drake University with a B.A. degree and the University of Wisconsin-River Falls with an M.A. degree in counseling education.

Jeff has experience in experiential counseling, building resiliency and identifying strengths in students. He enjoys both group and individual work with students and the relationships he establishes with students and their families.


  • Naviance Coordinator for District one year and North Junior High several years
  • Adult Mentoring WEB Coordinator for students
  • Recipient of $5,000 grant in district 279 and started an after school Academic Club for students needing and wanting academic support.
  • Lead teacher for the ESY secondary summer school program in ISD 279 ('03-'08).
  • Coordinated a peer tutoring program in '04-'05.
  • Department chair leader several years in different schools.
  • Co-leader for the African American achievers group at Maple Grove Senior High ('01-'02).
