Special Meeting of the School Board

April 13, 2026

The special meeting of the Board of Education of Independent School District 270 was conducted in-person, on Monday, April 13, 2026. The meeting was called to order at 8:30 a.m. 

School Board members present: Chair Shannon Andreson, Treasurer Rachel Hartland, Director Johanna Hyman, Vice Chair Brooke Roper, Director Kaj Thompson, Clerk Sara Wilhelm Garbers, and Director Zhiming Zhao.

School Board members absent: None.

Approval of Agenda 

Roper moved; Zhao seconded; to approve the agenda as presented. Carried.

Interview Semi-Finalists for Superintendent Position

The Board interviewed the 5 Superintendent candidates in the following order; Michael Thomas, George Nolan, Andy Beaton, Michael Lehan, and Becky Brodeur.

Deliberations and Selection for Round 2 Interviews

Hartland moved; Zhao seconded; that the Board moves forward Michael Thomas, Andy Beaton, and Becky Brodeur to Round 2 Interviews. Carried.

Review Round 2 Interview Questions and Schedule

The Board discussed and came to the decision that the Round 2 candidates will come with a presentation prepared for the interviews. The Board discussed and chose the Round 2 interview questions.

Wilhelm Garbers moved; Hartland seconded; to adjourn the meeting at 5:53 p.m. Carried.
