Policy reflects Minnesota statute and aligns with other District 270 policies.
A District calendar will be developed by the superintendent or designee and presented for Board adoption prior to April 1 of the year in which the previously adopted calendar ends. The school year will provide at least the minimum number of instructional days required by the State Board of Education and additional days for the teaching staff as specified in the Master Agreement between the Board and the Hopkins Education Association. If school closings for emergency reasons cause the school year to fall below the required minimum days, the deficit days will be addressed in a meet and confer process with the Hopkins Education Association. A plan will be developed by the meet and confer committee, and will be presented to the Superintendent for approval.
