LAC visits legislators at the Capitol

On March 24, 2025, the Hopkins LAC members and student members joined the Association of Metropolitan School Districts’ (AMSD) annual Day at the Capitol.

The group heard from the legislative leaders of the House and Senate Education Committees, hearing about the work happening in education funding and policy. Additionally, they met with each of the nine Hopkins legislators individually. They carried the message of the district's TOP priorities for education this session.

Balancing budget constraints with increasing student needs is not a simple task. The LAC will continue to work closely with all Minnesota legislators and school districts, with the shared goal of providing an excellent educational experience for every student.
