Glen Lake celebrates play and school spirit

Glen Lake Elementary took part in Global School Play Day yesterday, unplugging from screens and diving into unstructured play with fort-building, board games, puzzles, and creativity-driven fun. Research shows that free play supports creativity, problem-solving, and social connection.

You may also notice a color theme in these photos! Students were encouraged to wear red in celebration of the Glen Lake's House of Amistad, which earned the most PAWS points during the first half of the school year. Known as the House of Friendship (amistad is Spanish for friendship), the house emphasizes kindness, community, and looking out for one another - values that reflect what Glen Lake is all about.
