Gatewood kindergarteners carve pumpkins

Last week, kindergarteners at Gatewood Elementary experienced carving pumpkins. They explored the squash in all its glory with the help of a parent volunteer. Students weighed their pumpkin, measured its height, and even counted how many seeds were inside of it. Some kindergarteners were surprised to see what was inside and others were excited to scoop out the pulp. Each group got to choose what shapes would be cut out of their pumpkin and the parent volunteer carved the design. Enjoy these photos from the exciting Friday afternoon activity.
