We’re proud to celebrate Amy Phung, kindergarten teacher at Meadowbrook Elementary and a 2026 Minnesota Teacher of the Year finalist!
In Amy’s classroom, students learn how to support one another, be flexible, and grow together. Her colleagues describe a classroom where kindness, patience, and joy are part of every day. Former students still come back to visit, saying they remember feeling excited to come to school and how they felt truly seen in her classroom.
Out of 128 candidates statewide, Amy is one of 11 finalists. The 2026 Minnesota Teacher of the Year will be announced this Sunday, May 3 at the Saint Paul RiverCentre.
