At a meeting held April 7, 2026, the Hopkins Public School Board selected six semi-finalists to interview for the school district’s superintendent position. The semi-finalists are:
· Dr. Thomas Ahart, Former Superintendent, Des Moines Public Schools, IA
· Andrew Beaton, Assistant Superintendent, North St. Paul - Maplewood - Oakdale Schools, MN
· Rebecca Brodeur, Senior Director of Teaching and Learning, Robbinsdale Area Schools, MN
· Dr. Michael Lehan, Head of School, CATS Academy Boston, MA
· Dr. George Nolan, Principal, Hopkins Public Schools, MN
· Dr. Michael Thomas, Superintendent, Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools, MN
The semi-finalists were selected from a pool of 20 applicants based on criteria established by the school board, as well as survey and focus group input provided by Hopkins staff and members of the public.
The school board has scheduled interviews for the semi-finalists beginning at 8:30 am on Monday, April 13, 2026.
All interviews will be held in the Eisenhower Community Center Board Room 233 (1001 MN-7, Hopkins) and are open to the public. To ensure a level playing field for all candidates the interviews will not be livestreamed; however, recordings of the candidates selected to move on to a second round of interviews will be posted for viewing on the district website and remain posted through April 20, 2026.
