Community mural project begins at Eisenhower Elementary

Eisenhower Elementary began work on a community mural project in the middle of May. Thanks to a generous community donation and support from the Community Schools Grant, planning is underway for new murals in the cafeteria and media center. The project will create spaces that reflect the creativity, identity, and spirit of the Eisenhower community.

Gretta McLain and her assistant, Smash, from GoodSpace Murals visited Eisenhower for a design residency with students. During art classes, every student had the opportunity to collaborate, design, and share ideas that will help shape the vision for the murals.

This work marks the beginning of a multi-phase project that will bring student ideas to life in the finished murals in the cafeteria and media center. The new murals are planned to go up in the fall of 2026.
