League of Women Voters to Host a School Board Candidate Forum

Five candidates are vying for three open seats on the Hopkins School Board. The community will get a chance to hear from each of them at the Oct. 12 School Board Candidate Forum hosted by the League of Women Voters.

Five candidates are vying for three open seats on the Hopkins School Board. The community will get a chance to hear from each of them at a School Board Candidate Forum hosted by the League of Women Voters on Thursday Oct. 12 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Hopkins City Hall (1010 1st St. S., Hopkins).

The candidates Chris LaTondresse, Steve Semler, Fartun Ahmed, Jen Westmoreland Bouchard, and Kevin Bennett are running for three seats currently held by incumbents Betsy Anderson, Warren Goodroad, and Doobie Kurus, none of who are seeking re-election.

The Hopkins School Board has seven members, including four officers—chair, vice chair, treasurer, and clerk—and three directors. Board members are elected to four-year terms of office.
