Hopkins Royal Productions is pleased to present performances of their fall musical, “The Addams Family,” on Nov. 14, 15, and 16 at 7 p.m. and at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16 in the Hopkins High School Main Stage Theater.
This musical comedy is the story of The Addams Family (with music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa, book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice) which is based on the characters created by Charles Addams. Characters from the Addams Family have been featured in various forms such as comics, television series, live and animated films for over 80 years.
Each member of the bunch has their own unique quirks, but all look at life through a delightfully macabre lens. Their version of “everyday” family life is abruptly altered when dear daughter Wednesday brings home her “normal” fiancé to meet the family.
Over 60 Hopkins students serve in a variety of roles — as actors, dancers, orchestra musicians, stage managers, and technical crew — sharing their passion and skills to make this theatrical musical production happen.
“This is a quirky look at love and acceptance within an eccentric family and how those relationships can expand to include others,” said Royal Productions director Natalie Foster. “It embraces the wackiness in every family.I’m excited to present this musical with our talented cast and crew. And to share it with the Hopkins school district and the surrounding communities."
