Hopkins High School will host a Memorial Center blood drive on Thursday, October 11, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The drive will be held in the main gym at the high school, 2400 Lindbergh Drive in Minnetonka.
In addition to saving lives, donations will help send students to college. Memorial Blood Center is providing scholarships to college bound Hopkins High School students who volunteer during the blood drive. For every unit of blood donated at the drive, students earn money.
“In working with the student coordinators, I have seen how passionate they are about this important cause,” said Hopkins High School nurse Shannon Sinkel. “It’s nice to know that they are going to be able to take the knowledge they have learned along with the scholarship money with them to help them on the next leg of their educational journey.”
Parents and community members can schedule a donation time and fill out their health history online through the Hero Hub at www.mbc.org. The sponsor code is 1505. Donors are encouraged to sign up online prior to donating.
