Delta Place raises donations for Invisible Children

December 16, 2008

Students at Delta Place, located at the Eisenhower Community Center in Hopkins, raised more than $600 to support children at a secondary school in Uganda. At the start of the 2008 school year, students and teachers at Delta Place began raising money and books for the Invisible Children campaign, which supports children in war-torn northern Uganda. They wrote summaries about the war, sold Links of Love, organized book drives, and made key chains. They had a showing of the new Invisible Children movie, "Go!", and heard a guest speaker from Uganda teach them more about the situation in northern Uganda, Sudan and the Republic of Congo. The donations will be sent to the children at the Gulu Senior Secondary School in northern Uganda, which has been supported by the Delta Place students since 2006.
