Simply being a student in high school keeps a kid busy, but add in extracurriculars, jobs, and other after-school activities and their plates are full. But even still, Hopkins students consistently make time for others in the form of volunteerism.

Their commitment to giving back to their community and community members was celebrated March 9 during the annual Caring Youth Awards ceremony at the Minnetonka Community Center. Twenty-nine students from the Hopkins, Minnetonka, and Golden Valley school districts were honored for their dedication to volunteerism. Of those students, 10 were from Hopkins Public Schools.

“You are the key to our future,” said Hopkins Mayor Molly Cummings, who emceed the event. “And we are in really good hands.”
