Back to School donation drive to help students in the community

Donations will help support local families by providing kids with the supplies they need to learn.

ResourceWest is hosting a Back to School drive to ensure that all students come to school with the supplies they need to learn.

The average student in Minnesota will be required to purchase $75 worth of school supplies, not including a backpack.

ResourceWest’s Back to School program provides students who qualify with a new backpack filled with grade-specific basic school supplies. Listed below are the supplies needed for donations this year:

  • New backpacks for students in grades K-12
  • Sharpened yellow pencils
  • Wide and College Ruled Spiral Notebooks
  • Pocket folders
  • Composition notebooks
  • Glue sticks - Elmers
  • Index Cards - 3x5in packs
  • Pencil boxes - 5x8in plastic box
  • Zipper pencil pouch for 3-ring binder
  • Colored pencils - boxes of 12
  • College ruled loose leaf paper
  • Crayons - Boxes of 24
  • Dry erase markers
  • Drawstring backpacks
  • Red pens
  • Pink erasers
  • Rulers
  • Scissors
  • Wide tip markers
  • Yellow highlighters

A list of donation drop-off locations is available on the ResourceWest website. Supplies can also be dropped off directly at ResourceWest (1011 1st St. S., Suite 109, Hopkins) between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. You can also shop from Amazon and have the supplies shipped directly to ResourceWest. Supplies can be donated now through August 30.
