Back-to-School donation drive to help over 1,200 students in the community

The drive is intended to help students come to school with the supplies they need to learn.

ResourceWest is hosting a Back-to-School drive to ensure that all students come to school with the supplies they need to learn.

The average student in Minnesota will be required to purchase $75 worth of school supplies, not including a backpack.

ResourceWest’s Back-to-School program provides students who qualify with a new backpack filled with grade-specific basic school supplies. Listed below are the supplies needed for donations this year:

New backpack for students in grades K-12
Sharpened yellow pencils
Wide and college ruled spiral notebooks
Pocket folders - assorted colors
Composition notebooks
Red pens
Index cards (3x5 in.)
Pencil Boxes (5x8 in. plastic boxes)
Zipper pencil pouch for 3-ring binder
Colored pencils (12 pack)
College-ruled loose leaf paper
Crayons (24 pack)
Dry erase markers
Drawstring backpacks
Glue sticks (Elmers)
Pink erasers
Wide-tip markers
Yellow highlighters

A list of donation drop-off locations is available on the ResourceWest website. Supplies can also be dropped off directly at ResourceWest (1011 1st St. S., Suite 109, Hopkins) between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. You can also shop from Amazon and have the supplies shipped directly to ResourceWest. Supplies can be donated now through August 28.
