Due to the National Weather Service’s high confidence in tomorrow’s forecast, which calls for 1 inch of snow per hour during the morning commute and continuing through the evening, we made the decision to cancel school for Wednesday, February 20. The amount of snow forecasted will significantly impact our bussing and our ability to safely transport students to school. As part of this closure, there will be no Kids & Company, Stepping Stones, Stay & Explore, or Kaleidoscope Preschool. Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) and Early Childhood Special Education classes are cancelled. Staff are not to report. Afternoon activities are canceled.
Five students participated in the 2017 American Junior National Academic Championship in Chicago earlier in June. The team secured a spot in the semi-finals and is hoping for a national title next year.
Appropriately named the Mosaic Mural, the artwork adorns the school’s wall and represents the talents and cultures of all 90 sixth-grade students. It was an endeavor funded by a Hopkins Education Foundation grant.
