Students enrolled in the popular Advanced Placement Environmental Science course at Hopkins High School conducted stream health assessments on Minnehaha Creek. The students worked with Hennepin County Environmental Services as part of the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District's volunteer stream monitoring program-River Watch. Students collected stream invertebrate samples from the creek, measured water quality, and assessed general stream characteristics. Students learned about stream characteristics, water quality measurements, and biodiversity topics. This is the first time Hopkins High School has offered AP Environmental Science. It is taught by John Sammler.
