Hopkins High School receives 22 Minnesota Scholastic Art Awards

Once again, Hopkins High School art students hauled at the state’s largest art competition, earning four Gold Key awards, seven Silver Key awards, and 11 Honorable Mentions.

Hopkins High School art and photography students won an impressive 22 Minnesota Scholastic Art Awards (four Gold Key, seven Silver Key, and 11 Honorable Mentions). Students who received the Gold Key and Silver Key will have their pieces on exhibit at the Regis Center for Art at the University of Minnesota from Jan. 30 to Feb. 17. Honorable Mentions will be displayed digitally. The Scholastic Art Awards Ceremony will take place on Feb. 17 at the Weisman Art Museum.

Hopkins students who received Gold Key awards:

  • Teddie Bernard – Drawing and Illustration
  • Grant Cohen – Painting
  • Lia Harel – Ceramics and Glass (two Gold Key awards) 


Hopkins students who received Silver Key awards:

  • Ladan Abdi – Drawing and Illustration 
  • Sarah Clay – Drawing and Illustration (three Silver Key awards) 
  • Grant Cohen – Painting 
  • Mimi Gewirtz – Painting 
  • Mitchell Levesque – Painting 


Hopkins students who received Honorable Mentions: 

  • Jada Bennett – Mixed Media 
  • Teddie Bernard – Painting - Comic Art (two Honorable Mentions) 
  • Grant Cohen - Painting - Mixed media (two Honorable Mentions) 
  • Izzy Miller – Drawing and Illustration
