Open Enrollment Application

If you live outside of the Hopkins School District boundary and would like your child to attend one of our schools — we welcome you to open enroll

This form is ONLY for applications for the 2024-25 school year. If you are applying for the 2025-26 school year, check back in mid-November.

The deadline to apply for open enrollment for the 2024-25 school year was January 16, 2024. We welcome you to submit an Open Enrollment application. Applications are added to waitlists in the order they are received.

Please know that this close to the start of the school year, all of our schools have waitlists and are nearing capacity. If a space becomes available, we will contact you using the email on your child's application. 

It is important to confirm your student's placement

Please watch your email and confirm your placement offer by the due date in your email. To confirm your placement, reply to the email you receive and indicate you accept your student's space. It is very important to confirm your placement by the due date you receive.

For the current school year (2024-25), you may still apply for open enrollment; however, there are wait lists for many of our schools. Waitlists are reviewed throughout the school year and you will be contacted if a space opens.

Transportation is not provided outside of the school district

Families of open-enrolled students must transport their student to and from school. Some open-enrolled students residing in North Minneapolis who qualify may be eligible to receive transportation through the Equity Options program, learn more.
