About Dr. Michael Thomas
Dr. Michael Thomas has extensive experience leading large and complex school systems. He joins Hopkins after serving as the superintendent of Prior Lake-Savage Area schools.
Clarity, consistency, and engagement are pillars of Thomas' leadership style. Throughout his career, he has led efforts to expand access to advanced coursework, improve student achievement, address opportunity and achievement gaps, align curriculum and assessment practices, and strengthen long-term financial stability. Thomas has focused his work on ensuring that all students have access to the opportunities, support, and resources they need to succeed.
“Having long admired the district, I have great respect for its strong foundation, its commitment to ensuring every student feels a sense of belonging, and the pride this community has in its schools,” he said.
