Immersion Application

The following form is an application to the Hopkins Public Schools Chinese Immersion magnet program at Eisenhower Elementary School. By completing this form, you understand that:

• The initial application period is open until January 17, 2023. All applications received by this date will be included in the initial placement process. The Chinese Immersion program will offer two sections of full-day kindergarten at Eisenhower Elementary School. Class sizes will range from 21 to 27 students. A lottery system will be used if more students apply than the program can accommodate.
• If you missed the deadline, you are welcome to apply. Placement offers will be made as spaces are available — you will be added to a wait list based on the date we receive your application. 
• You will need to confirm your placement acceptance by responding to your placement offer email. 

If you live outside the Hopkins schools district, you will need to complete an Open Enrollment form in addition to the immersion application form in order to apply to any Hopkins Public Schools immersion program. If you are a resident in the Hopkins school district, you may skip this step.

• The deadline for Open Enrollment applications for the 2023-24 school year is on January 17, 2023, to be entered into the initial lottery. All applications received after January 17 are added to the waiting list based on the date received. If you are offered a placement, you will need to provide a proof of residency.

• In addition to the immersion application, either complete an online Open Enrollment Application form or download and complete an Open Enrollment Application form in the language you best understand.
• If you need an Open Enrollment Application form printed and mailed to your address, please contact the Enrollment Office at Enrollment@HopkinsSchools.org or call 952-988-4110.

• Completed Open Enrollment Application forms may be submitted by mail, email, or fax:

After completing steps 1 and 2, please wait for an email confirmation from the Hopkins Public Schools Enrollment specialists with important information such as:

• Additional materials you need to submit.
• If you have been placed on a waitlist or if you are have been  given an offer to confirm your child's placement.
• A link to the online enrollment form.

The following form is an application to the Hopkins Public Schools Juntos Spanish Immersion magnet program. By completing this form, you understand that:

• The initial application period is open until January 17, 2023 All applications received by this date will be included in the initial placement process.
• The Spanish immersion program will be offered at two locations: Alice Smith Elementary and Eisenhower Elementary.
• Class sizes will range from 21 to 27 students and the number of available sections will be determined at a later date. A lottery system will be used if more children apply than the program can accommodate.
• If you miss the January 17, 2023 deadline, you are welcome to apply — you will be added to a wait list based on the date we receive your application.
• Notification letters will be mailed by February 15, 2023. Families who are offered placement will have until March 1, 2023 to respond. A signed acceptance letter will be required.
