School Board

The Hopkins School Board — comprised of seven members elected at large by District residents — is the governing authority of Hopkins Public Schools. The responsibilities of the Board are primarily focused on three areas:

  • Budget adoption, revenue management, and expenditure authorization

  • Superintendent selection, contract, and evaluation

  • Establishing District policy 

The Superintendent, along with the Director of Business Services — who is the Board-appointed Clerk — both serve as ex officio, non-voting members of the Board.

The School Board establishes goals annually that are aligned with the District's mission.

The Hopkins School District Board of Education conducts regular meetings throughout the school year at 7 p.m. (unless otherwise noted) on the first & third Tuesdays, September through May.
