Digital AV & KHOP-TVDigital AV & KHOP-TV

Digital Audio-Visual (AV) services are provided to enhance classroom engagement, increase media literacy, and help connect our schools to the community.  Digital AV services are instrumental in our development of 21st century digital classrooms, featuring Promethean Activboards (interactive whiteboards), LCD projectors, audio amplification systems, and fully connected classrooms.

We support classrooms by helping select equipment and by working with teachers to integrate new technologies into their classrooms. We provide follow-up technical support by addressing issues with connectivity, maintenance, and special needs.

Digital & Television Production

We deliver current programming for local cable television broadcasts, as well as digital media productions for internal purposes and online distribution. KHOP-TV is the traditional name for Hopkins School District Television, but today it includes much more, expanding to support digital audio-visual technology as our school district moves to 21st century digital classrooms.

Hopkins students and staff produce television programs that can be viewed on cable TV or the Internet. Hopkins schools also offer classes in digital television production. We provide support for digital AV used in our 21st Century Digital Classrooms.

Hopkins learners experience video technology integrated into the curriculum at all grade levels. Specific courses that teach digital video technology are Movie Making 9, offered at Hopkins West Junior High, and Television Production 1–5, offered at Hopkins High School.

Students interested in additional experiences with television production may participate in Television Production Club. We currently have clubs at Hopkins North Junior High and Hopkins High School. Students involved in the TV clubs have opportunities to record athletic events, concerts, and other school district events, as well as work on their own projects.
