Overview

The Hopkins School Board has directed the administration to conduct a secondary program review. The purpose of this study will be to proactively review the junior and senior high school program requirements and master schedule, keeping in mind the desire to provide optimal student learning and achievement within the resources available to the school district.

Recommendations to Superintendent and School Board

The study will take place over the next 9 months and once it is completed, recommendations will be presented to the superintendent and school board. If any changes are recommended based on this study, the district would prepare students, staff, and families for implementation during the 2011-12 school year.

Committee and Community Input

The committee is comprised of approximately 40 members; the group includes junior and senior high staff members, parents, students, and administrators.

As part of this study, the district's administration will be conducting surveys and focus groups with parents and community members. These will likely occur within the next few months. Further information will be forthcoming about these, once the study begins.
