Greta Evans-Becker, Ed.D.

Principal

Dr. Evans-Becker became Meadowbrook principal in 2008. She has over 20 years of experience as an educator. She is a National Board Certified Early Childhood Generalist with a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education, a Masters degree in Child and Family Studies, and Doctor of Education in Educational Policy and Administration.

Kaleidoscope Preschool Teacher

Ann Aanestad has been working in the Hopkins School District since 2001. She worked as a substitute teacher in many of the elementary schools and at Harley Hopkins in the Kaleidoscope Program.

Heidi loves working with the kids, teachers and parents at Meadowbrook. When she's not working, she likes to cook, read, and chase deer out of her garden.

Licensed School Nurse

Jana graduated from St. Olaf College in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Stephanie Bell, MA Curriculum and Teaching

4th Grade Classroom Teacher

Stephanie Bell has been a teacher in the Hopkins School District since 1999. She has taught at three elementary schools within the district; Eisenhower, Glen Lake, and currently Meadowbrook.

Deb Bergren, BS

Physical Education /DAPE Teacher

Mrs. Bergren has been teaching physical education and developmental/adapted physical education in the Hopkins Public Schools since 1994.

Calvin Boone, BA, MS

4th Grade Classroom Teacher

Calvin Boone has taught in the Hopkins Public Schools since 2004. Previous to the Hopkins School District, Calvin taught in Minneapolis School District for a number of years. He has taught 4th, 5th, and 6th grade during his teaching career.

Mary Buechler, MS

3rd Grade Classroom Teacher

Mary Buechler's educational training includes a BS in Elementary Education with a minor in Learning Disabilities from Iowa State University and a Master of Arts in Education from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota. She has been with the Hopkins School District since 1992.

5th Grade Classroom Teacher

Education is a career change for me. My first degree was a Bachelor of Arts degree from Augsburg College, and my second degree, which I obtained 8 years later, is a Bachelor of Science degree for Elementary Education from the University of Minnesota.

Administrative Assistant

Joan has worked in the office at Meadowbrook for many years. She has been a parent, volunteer and school community member. She is proud to be a part of the Hopkins School District.

Kindergarten Teacher

Jan Busch teaches one session of half day kindergarten. She graduated from St. Cloud State University with a double major in Elementary Education K-6 and Reading.

Mrs. Carter has worked for the Hopkins Public Schools since 2002.

Erika is currently job sharing a 2nd grade teaching position. She has taught since 1993, with experience in grades 2,3, 4 and 6.

Learning Support Teacher

Beth Davis has many years of elementary education experience, including classroom teaching in a parochial school and from 1996-2009 as an LRT (Learning Resource Teacher) in the Hopkins Public Schools.

School Social Worker

Karen has been with the Hopkins School Social Work Department since 1997. Karen worked for 11 years at the Transition Plus program in Hopkins, and is now the School Social Worker for Meadowbrook Elementary.

Katie has been teaching 3rd or 4th grade at Meadowbrook Elementary since 1998.

Physical Education Specialist

Mindy Erdal has been teaching Physical Education in the Hopkins School District since 1986. She has taught at Tanglen, Alice Smith, Katherine Curren and Meadowbrook. Mindy is the Elementary Physical Education Lead and coaches elementary volleyball at Meadowbrook.

Sara Forsberg began with the Hopkins district in 1991. She holds a B.A. in Elementary Education from Concordia University, St. Paul, MN, and a M.S. in Educational Leadership from Minnesota State University, Mankato, MN. She teaches second grade at Meadowbrook Elementary School and shares a job with Michelle Hetland.

Terri Gratz has been teaching fourth grade at Meadowbrook since 1999. Prior to that, she taught for 9 years at a nearby private school and one year in the St. Paul schools.

Michelle currently job shares with Sara Forsberg. Her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education is from the College of St. Catherine. She has a Master of Arts with a Literacy Focus from Hamline University. Michelle began teaching in the Hopkins School District in 1998.

Patty Houston has a BS degree, with honors, from the University of Minnesota in Elementary Education. She has been an educator in kindergarten, first and second grade in the Hopkins School District for over 30 years.

Deb earned her degree in Occupational Therapy from the College of St. Catherine in 1983 and began working for Intermediate School District 287 in the Special Education Department in 1984. Deb Lund has been an Occupational Therapist in the Hopkins School District since 1998

Rachael Ramy graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College in 2001 with a degree in Elementary Education. Since graduating she has had the opportunity to teach at a variety of grade levels in the Hopkins Public Schools, as well as teach abroad.

Jessi Rao has taught English Language Learners in Hopkins Schools since 2005. She has a Masters in English Literature and ELL certification from Hamline University.

Kathy Rezac received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Bemidji State University and her Masters Degree in Family Education, as well as her Parent Education license, from the University of Minnesota.

Mrs. Rios has been working in the Hopkins Public Schools since Fall 2008. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Bemidji and her Masters of Arts degree in Music Education from the University of St. Thomas

Kathleen Roller has been with the Hopkins School District since 1997. Previous to Hopkins, she taught in California for 6 years. She has been a classroom teacher for grades 3, 5, and 6, and she has also taught grades K-6 for the Gifted and Talented.

Natalie Sawatzky has been working at Meadowbrook Elementary as the School Counselor since 2004. She attended St. Cloud State University where she earned her BS degree in Applied Psychology in 2001 and her MS in School Counseling in 2003.

Terry Sharratt graduated from the University of Minnesota with a BA degree in Social Work. She obtained Elementary Education license from Augsburg and an M.ED from Bethel University.

Judy Skalicky holds an AA degree from Metropolitan State University, an BS honors degree from the University of Minnesota, and an MA degree from Mankato State University. She has been teaching at Meadowbrook for many years.

Brian Stanley currently is employed full time as the Special Services Coordinator for Eisenhower, Glen Lake and Meadowbrook elementary schools.

Mr. Thompson has been working in the Hopkins Public Schools since 2001. He has worked at every level in the band department, and is now located at Meadowbrook Elementary and also currently serving as a Master Teacher in the Hopkins District.

Teresa has been with the Hopkins School District since 1993. She has taught grades 1-3 and is currently a first grade teacher at Meadowbrook.

George Vasil joined the Hopkins School District in the 2011-2012 school year. Prior to joining Hopkins Schools, he taught in St. Paul Public Schools and the Anoka-Hennepin School District.

Molly started her teaching career at Loyola HS, Mankato MN as Art Instructor 1993-97. She's been with Hopkins Community Ed since 2000, teaching pottery to adults and children.

Classroom Teacher

Courtney Warrington has joined the Meadowbrook team for the 2011-2012 school year. She graduated in May of 2010 with her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education specializing in pre-primary; after student teaching here at Meadowbrook in 1st grade.

Kayla graduated with her Masters in Occupational Therapy from the University of Minnesota in 2009.

5th Grade Classroom Teacher

Kelley has been working in the Hopkins Public Schools since 2005. She worked in special education at Alice Smith while completing her Elementary Education and Middle School Math teaching licenses.

Jessica Zimmerman has been a 6th grade teacher in the Hopkins Public Schools since 2003. She received a Masters of Education from the University of Minnesota. Jessica began teaching 3rd grade in the Minnetonka district, then moved to Hopkins.
