We have gotten off to a rip-roaring start.  All classes have completed Media Center orientation and are checking out books.  Kindergarteners will get their first books September 30.  Classes 4-6 have had an orientation to using the Internet, and classes 3-6 have, or soon will, start keyboarding lessons using Type to Learn 4.

We are enjoying our second year with iPads.  HEF (thank you!) provided our first 30 -- now we are up to 48. And thank you to the PTO for 8 new document cameras for classrooms.

As part of our theme, Get in the Game, READ!, we hope to have monthly contests in the Media Center, starting in October.  Some other events to look forward to are:

September 24 - Oct. 1 Banned Books Week

October - Photography Contest -- Get in the Game (see Posters for details!)

November - a monthlong celebration of reading with displays, activities and the ever popular "Look it Up" Contest

Feb. 27 - March 2 Read Across America (and Dr. Seuss's birthday)

March - March Madness -- a NCAA style tournament to select Meadowbrook's favorite books

April - Poetry Month (hmm... another poetry contest?)
