Welcome to Tanglen Elementary School! 

We are located just northwest of Hopkins High School next to the football field. Tanglen serves about 600 students in grades K–6. Like other Hopkins elementary schools, Tanglen primarily serves families from our surrounding neighborhoods, but we also have welcomed many students from other districts whose families have chosen our school because of our strong programs.

In addition to content areas such as Mathematics, Language Arts, Social Studies, and Science, we also offer an array of programs which include Art, Vocal Music, Band, Orchestra, Physical Education, Special Education Services, Title I, English Language Learning, and Challenge services for gifted students. We have two computer labs, a media center, and a laptop program at our 6th grade level.

As the principal, it is my honor to be a part of this diverse community of learners and their families. After many years in the educational field, I understand the expectations, hopes, and dreams that families have for their children. I am proud to inform you that our staff members at Tanglen are hard working, caring, and dedicated to the commitment of the academic success of every student.
