The Media Center is an exciting part of Tanglen Elementary School. We serve students in kindergarten through 6th grade. As part of Hopkins Public Schools, we have an open Media Center which means that in addition to class book check-out each week, students can come to the Media Center to check out a book at any time. Students also receive Library Lessons so they learn how to properly use the resources that libraries have to offer. 

The 7,000 square foot Media Center has a variety of information tools for students and staff including the following:

• over 20,000 books
• primary section with fiction and non-fiction books
• large reference section
• video studio
• numerous periodicals
• access to online subscription databases
• 62 iMac computers in the two computer labs
• 60 laptops in two portable carts for classroom use
• teaching area with data projector and document camera
