Welcome to North's website!

We know that the North Star can be used for navigation and that if lost (without your GPS) you find "true north" to orient yourself before heading any other direction. In essence, north helps you find your way home. Our school, North Junior High School, makes the reference to finding a home personal for our students, families and staff. Personalizing the educational experience for each of our students is essential to creating an educational home where students can take risks to challenge themselves to learn while feeling safe and supported socially, emotionally as well as academically.

What Makes Us Unique?

When parents, students, and staff were asked the question "what is it about NJH that sets it apart from the hundreds of middle-school programs throughout the state - what makes us truly unique?" all responded similarly:

• Our teachers! The passion our teachers show for education and their love for the uniqueness of middle level learners is obvious in everything that they do.
• Our richly diverse student body - Diverse in many ways and from many perspectives (race, religion, culture, language and more), North is a global community where learners are truly learning from each other with each interaction.
• Total support of our community - Parents, students, businesses, alumni and neighbors of our school are fiercely loyal and proud of North!


What Makes Us Proud?

The answer to the question of "what makes us proud?" Pride in our programming and our results resound in these comments from staff:

• Our commitment is that every student experience success.
• We continue to make learning exciting for kids
• Our intentional effort is to connect with all families
• We're not afraid to try new things that are great for kids

What makes me proud of these comments is how clearly student centered they are. Parents have commented that North is "The school of "Yes We Can" and a student remarked "North isn't a community; it's more like a family."

Our "true north" is our dedication and our commitment to our students. Thank you for sharing your student with us and being part of our North family.
