Comprehensive ProgramComprehensive Program

Hopkins High School offers a comprehensive program designed for students with differing abilities and goals.

We offer advanced, accelerated, and independent study courses, along with a traditional program, vocationa ltraining opportunities, and remedial studies. Students may elect to participate in internships, mentorships, or community involvement programs in addition to their regular coursework.

Hopkins High School offers approximately 250 courses in 15 subject areas.  These courses are either one, two, three, or four terms in length.

  • Business Ed.: 18 courses
  • ELL (English Language Learners): 13 courses
  • Family & Consumer Science: 13 courses
  • Health Science: 4 courses
  • Journalism:  3 courses
  • Language Arts: 21 courses
  • Mathematics: 12 courses
  • Physical Education: 14 courses
  • Music Education: 5 Bands (including Jazz), 6 Choirs (including Chamber), 3 Orchestras (including Chamber), 5 other music courses
  • Reading: 4 courses
  • Science: 18 courses
  • Social Studies: 21 courses
  • Technology Education: 18 courses
  • Video Production Production: 5 courses
  • World Languages: 6 levels of French, 6 levels of German, 6 levels of Spanish, 3 levels of American Sign Language

College credit is available through our 7 College-in-the-Schools courses and our 16 AP (Advanced Placement) courses. College courses mayalso be taken through Minnesota's Post Secondary Educational Options Program (PSEOP).
