Sometimes, winter storms or other emergencies cause Hopkins Public Schools to close school for the day, delay the beginning of the school day, or close school early.
Timing
An announcement will be sent as early as 6:30 a.m. when school will be closed or start late. Early dismissal from school in session will be announced approximately one hour before dismissal.
Connect-ED® Phone Message and Email
We will notify parents through our Connect-ED® message system. This will be our school district's primary information resource for parents. Families will receive a phone message and an email, if a family's email address has been entered in our Infinite Campus Portal.
Parents can double-check that the school district has their correct primary phone numbers and email addresses through Infinite Campus. Parents who do not have a login for Infinite Campus should send an email to . Parents can correct their own email addresses, but they need to contact their school to correct any wrong phone numbers.
Radio & Television
As secondary information resources about school closings, Hopkins Public Schools will notify WCCO radio (830 AM), and television stations WCCO-TV (Channel 4), KSTP-TV (Channel 5), and KARE-TV (Channel 11), and put information on the school closing phone line at 952.988.4019, and on the homepage of our website.
