There is a specific open-enrollment program available to students who meet two criteria:

1. The student and parent/guardian must live in Minneapolis, and, for Hopkins Public Schools, the residence must be specifically in North Minneapolis, AND
2. The student must qualify for free/reduced price lunch.

If both criteria are met, the student is eligible to apply for open enrollment through the TCIY program.  This open enrollment program provides transportation to and from school.  There is no tuition charged for this program.

If you are interested in Hopkins Public Schools and your child meets the above criteria, you will need to submit an Application for Open Enrollment, which may be found at the link below. 

Applications for the 2011-2012 school year received by January 15, 2011, will receive priority placement.  If you miss that deadline, you may still submit an application, but it will be placed on a waiting list with all of the other open enrollment applicants.

For the current 2010-11 school year, we have completed all the placements we could make prior to the start of the school year.  We do have a waiting list at all grade levels, but you are welcome to join that waiting list at any time.  The waiting list will be monitored throughout the school year, with another scheduled review in January, prior to the start of the second semester.  You will be contacted if a space opens and we are able to offer it to your student.
