Question
Why do we receive information from outside groups in the students' take home folders?
Answer
The school district has a policy governing the distribution of non-curricular materials to students. We require advance approval before any materials are distributed. We also require the organization who wants the materials distributed to provide the appropriate number of copies and to count out the number for each classroom. Many schools are going to electronic backpacks, so parents can select whether they want to download a copy of the information. Through these policies, approvals and procedures, we are trying to minimize disruption and adding to the workload of teachers. The school district is not compensated in any way.
