Question 

Why are students allowed to change their class schedules without parent permission?

Answer

All families are provided with information about the parameters for making schedule changes. Students are allowed to change their schedules—add or drop—classes without their parents' permission before the term starts. However, once that classes begin meeting, parents' signatures are required on drop petitions.
