Hopkins Public Schools will be represented by high school team "Damage Control" at the Destination ImagiNation Global Finals, May 25-28 in Knoxville, TN. The Global Finals will include 14,000 participants from the United States and more than 30 countries.Damage Control, a team of tenth-grade girls, received third-place overall in the Improvisation Competition at the April state tournament. The team performed a five-minute skit about a mythological creature in China and had to solve an instant challenge with only a few minutes to prepare.
"Today's students will enter a work environment where the business challenges change quickly, explained team manager Autumn Boos. "Companies are asking for graduates who are innovative thinkers, and Destination ImaginNation helps students learn to work as a team to solve problems creatively."
Destination ImagiNation is a non-profit program that develops teamwork, creativity, and problem solving. It is the state's largest non-athletic activity. Hopkins had 10 Destination ImagiNation teams from kindergarten through tenth grade in this year's program.
