Hopkins Public Schools (ISD #270) invites sealed bids for a Lump Sum Contract for the network cabling within Eisenhower Community Center located in Hopkins, MN 55305.

Description of Work:  Complete replacement of data and telephone cabling throughout the existing school and office spaces (approximately 185,000 square-feet).  Work includes technology cabling and relocation of existing technology equipment, testing of systems and grounding.

Estimated Start Date:        June 1, 2009

Estimated Construction Cost:     $300,000

Bid Documents:  Bid documents will be available 24 April 2009 at Engineering Design Initiative, Ltd. located at 1112 North 5th Street, Minneapolis, MN 55411 (612) 343-5965 (phone).   Plans and specifications can be purchased for $40 (non-refundable).

Bidder Qualifications:  Bidders not meeting the qualifications in the Contract Documents will not be eligible for award.  Bidders will be required to submit qualifications as an attachment to the Bid Form.  A current and active licensed Minnesota electrical contractor is required for work and bid submission.

Bid Date: Sealed bids are due at 2PM, 8 May 2009.  Bids shall be submitted to Hopkins Buildings and Grounds, Attn: Michelle, Hopkins Public Schools, 1001 Highway 7, Hopkins, MN 55305.  A contract will be awarded to the lowest qualified bidder.

Mandatory Pre-Bid Conference:  29 April 2009 (2 PM) at project site located at 1001 Highway 7, Hopkins, MN 55305.

Prevailing Wage Rates: The successful contractor and all associated sub-contractors shall pay prevailing wage rates at the location of work.
