Question:
Are the Hopkins and St. Louis Park school districts talking about merging?
Answer:
There are no plans to merge the Hopkins and St. Louis Park school districts. We do, however, partner with St. Louis Park on some programs that serve particular segments of our population.
For example, the Adult Options In Education program, which offers English Language classes, GED preparation and testing, and basic reading and writing skills classes for adults, serves and is supported by the community education departments of the Hopkins, Minnetonka, and St. Louis Park school districts, along with the Hennepin County Adult Correctional Facility.
In addition, the Transition Plus program, a special-education program that provides services to young adults with disabilities ages 18 to 21, is a joint program between Hopkins, St. Louis Park, and Minnetonka school districts.
