The Gifted and Talented (Challenge) program remains one of the K-12 strengths of Hopkins Public Schools. We are one of very few school districts that has a Challenge teacher in place in each elementary school, and also have staff members in each secondary school. There are absolutely no plans to diminish Challenge services; in fact, it is one of the only areas within the District budget that has never been reduced.

The Challenge program is under its Curriculum review. This is a process through which our already strong program will be strengthened. Parents, classroom teachers, and Challenge teachers are all an important part of this process, which will take place over the next several years.
