The Eisenhower Observatory will be hosting an International Observe theMoon Open House (InOMN) event from 7:00 - 10:30 pm. From the roof-top observatory, we'll train the Sauter 12" telescope on the Moon for a spectacular view. There will be presentations and exhibits throughout the building, including additional telescopes in the front yard. For a virtual tour of the cosmos, the Bell Museum's portable planetarium, the ExploraDome, will be set up in the gym. Come on out and join us for a night of lunar exploration and fun!
The International Observe the Moon Night (InOMN) is a world-wide celebration of our nearest celestial neighbor: the Moon! Each year in the fall, millions of people from hundreds of locations in countries across the globe come together to view the Moon and learn about its diverse roles in culture, history, science, and exploration.
The observatory is located at the the Eisenhower Community Center, Room 347, 1001 Highway 7, in Hopkins.
See the International Observe the Moon website for more details: http://observethemoonnight.org/
