Description:

The Work will be accomplished under seven (7) separate Prime Contracts (for bid category description - refer to Section 01010). The Bidder is required to include base bid sum(s), alternate bid sum(s) and unit prices in the Bidder's Proposal (as applicable).

Site Pre-Bid Investigation and Visitation:

A mandatory pre bid tour of the site and conference for all interested Contractors and Subcontractors will be held at 1:00 PM local time on October 6, 2010 at the Hopkins Bus Depot at 835 Decatur Ave., Golden Valley, Minnesota in the Upper Level Conference Room.

A. All bidders must visit the site in order to better understand the project and building conditions.

B. No allowance shall be made for field situations that could have been determined by field inspection prior to beginning work.

 

Bidding Document Inspection:

Bidding Document Procurement:

Bidders may receive complete sets of the Construction Documents, up to a limit of one (1) set per bidder, from JEA Architects, 6440 Flying Cloud Drive, Suite 202, Eden Prairie, MN 55344 upon the receipt of a non-refundable check in the amount of $75.00 per complete set made payable to JEA Architects and a non-refundable $20.00 handling charge per set check made to payable JEA Architects. Contract Documents will be available to bidders on September 30, 2010.

Bid Security:

Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check, or corporate surety bond in an amount equal to five (5%) percent of the base bid, as bid security.

Bonding Requirements:

If awarded a contract, each successful Bidder at the discretion of the Owner shall be required to furnish both Performance and Payment Bonds. The cost for the Performance and Payment Bonds if required shall be reimbursed to the Contractor by the Owner.

Governing Laws and Regulations:

Contracts for work under this bid will obligate the Contractor and subcontractors to maintain policies of employment under provisions of applicable Federal and State laws against discrimination, including, but not limited to, Civil Rights Act of 1964 and Minnesota Statute 363.

Owner's Right:

The Hopkins ISD #270 reserves the right to waive irregularities and to reject any or all bids.
