School Board

Supporting, promoting, and enhancing the work of Hopkins Public Schools.

The Hopkins School Board — comprised of seven members elected at large by District residents — is the governing authority of Hopkins Public Schools. The responsibilities of the Board are primarily focused on three areas:

  • Budget adoption, revenue management, and expenditure authorization
  • Superintendent selection, contract, and evaluation
  • Establishing District policy 

The District Superintendent serves as an ex officio, non-voting member of the Board.

Upcoming School Board Events

School Board Meetings
The Hopkins School District Board of Education generally conducts regular meetings throughout the school year at 7 p.m. on Tuesdays (typically the first & third Tuesdays of the month), September through May, streamed online via YouTube. The public is welcome.

School Board Workshops
Board workshops are tentatively scheduled throughout the school year, typically at 6 p.m on Tuesdays (September through May) streamed online via YouTube. The public is welcome.
