School Board

The Hopkins School Board — comprised of seven members elected at large by District residents — is the governing authority of Hopkins Public Schools. The responsibilities of the Board are primarily focused on three areas:

Budget adoption, revenue management, and expenditure authorization

Superintendent selection, contract, and evaluation

Establishing District policy

The Superintendent, along with the Director of Business Services — who is the Board-appointed Clerk — both serve as ex officio, non-voting members of the Board.

Board Vision & Goals

The School Board establishes goals annually that are aligned with the school district's mission, "Serving a community rich in culture and diversity, the Hopkins Public Schools develops in all students the skills, knowledge, and passion for lifelong learning."

Once approved, the Board goals serve as the foundation from which the Superintendent will build his goals and, thereafter, the goals of District administrators and principals.
