Hopkins Public Schools offers four kindergarten choices to meet your family's speciflc needs of our kindergarten options concentrate on the development of the child as a whole person. Our content focuses on the social, emotional, intellectual, and physical growth of the individual child. Options include:

  1. Half-Day Kindergarten: five days a week in either a half-day morning or afternoon session.
  2. Kindergarten Plus: fee-based, all-day program with a kindergarten-licensed teacher, five days a week, 6 ½ hours per day.
  3. KinderConnection: full-day kindergarten experience, children attend Half-Day Kindergarten and spend the rest of the day in fee-based KinderConnection with academic learning, one-on-one attention, and three-, four-, or five-day options.
  4. XinXing Academy: fee-based Chinese immersion magnet program.

Upcoming Kindergarten Information Nights at the elementary schools are the perfect time to ask questions, gather more information about choices, and to meet other parents who will attend your child's school. These meetings are being held throughout the month of November and are designed for parents of children entering kindergarten in the fall, but are open to any family wanting to learn more about the schools.
